Furthermore, Honda Motor. plans to eventually have their sole motorcycle production plant in Japan here in Kyushu. As their master plant in the field of two-wheeled vehicles, their Kumamoto facility provides new technologies to their other production bases around the world.
To meet the demands of the areas numerous manufacturers of ready-for-market vehicles, many parts manufacturers are also expected to locate their operations in Kyushu in the future. In fact, recent years have already seen a number of foreign enterprises setting up shop in Kyushu, including two German companies—automotive safety inspection equipment manufacturer MAHA Maschinenbau GmbH and major automobile design company EDAG Engineering + Design AG—that have opened branch offices in Fukuoka. All of this just goes to show that there is no better time for parts manufacturers to establish a foothold in this huge and still growing market. |
