Tuxpan V map
Tuxpan V Project-The first overseas IPP business in which Japanese power companies participated in from the FS stage to contracting
Tuxpan V Project is the first IPP project where Kyushu Electric participated from the assessment stage and made a successful bid together with Mitsubishi Corporation. It was the first time for Japanese utilities to obtain such an excellent result. The plant is constructed adjacent to Tuxpan II, which is also managed by Kyushu Electric and Mitsubishi Corporation. The business scale of the two projects sums up to approximately one million kW.
Kyushu Electric sent its engineers to support the power plant construction works during the construction period. Since the commercial operation date, our engineers have stationed in the Tuxpan, Veracruz to support operation and maintenance of the power plant. Wholesale power has been sold in conformity with a 25-year power purchase agreement with CFE after the operation starts, and transferred mainly to Mexico City.
This power plant uses eco-friendly natural gas and adopts a combined cycle power generation facility, which is superior for its combustion efficiency.
