Conclusion of an Agreement on the Supplying of MOX Fuel for Pluthermal* at the Genkai Nuclear Power Station Unit3
*The term “Pluthermal” is a Japanese word that combines the English words of “plutonium” and “thermal”
We announce that we today concluded with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. an agreement on the supplying of mixed oxide fuel of uranium and plutonium (MOX fuel) for the Pluthermal project, a plutonium thermal utilization process at the Genkai Nuclear Power Station Unit3.

Upon completion of necessary preparations, MOX fuel will be manufactured by COMMOX (the contact representing the AREVA group) in France, to which Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. commissions the manufacture of MOX fuel.

We are determined to ensure, as always, quality assurance activities relating to the procurement of MOX fuel and to proceed steadfastly with the Pluthermal project.
