Kyushu Electric Power Company Inc.
Rejection of the Temporary Injunction against Restart of Genkai Nuclear Power Station Units No.3 and 4
(Kyushu Electric Power Prevails in Court)

The lawsuit was filed on January 27, 2017, seeking to prohibit the restart of Genkai Nuclear Power Station Units No. 3 and 4.
We had asked the court to reject the injunction, and insisted that we are taking measures to ensure the safety by sufficiently evaluating effects of earthquakes and volcanos, and taking accident prevention measures and appropriate measures to ensure the safety in the event of accidents, and insisted that there is no specific risk of abnormal release of radioactive materials to the surrounding environment.

Saga District Court rejected the temporary injunction which the petitioner filed, and said that there was no specific risk of severe accidents at Genkai Nuclear Power Station.
We believe the decision means the court has approved our assertion and made the correct decision.

We will continue our voluntary initiatives to further enhance safety and reliability and will make every effort to ensure the safety of Genkai Nuclear Power Station.
