Conclusion of the Joint Venture Contract for wind power generation project in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China

Kyushu Electric Power Company today concluded the Joint Venture Contract for wind power generation project in China's province Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (hereinafter called the Project) with China Datang Corporation (CDT) and Sumitomo Corporation (China) Limited.

Since 2005, we have discussed the Project with CDT and Sumitomo Corporation* and reached the conclusion of the Joint Venture Contract following the agreement to develop the Project.
* Kyushu Electric Power undertook the Basic Survey for Promoting the JI/CDM for FY2005 from New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Kyushu Electric Power Company is establishing a business corporation with CDT and Sumitomo Corporation (China) to develop the Project.

On this Joint Venture Contract, Kyuden International Corporation, a subsidiary of Kyushu Electric Power concluded the contract as a contracting party on behalf of Kyushu Electric Power.

* Purpose Establishment of a business corporation,  implementation of wind power generation project in Chifeng city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and acquisition of CO2 credit through CDM
* Capacity Approx. 50,000 kW (Start operation in the end of 2008)
* Date of Conclusion April 24, 2007
