In April 2021, the Kyuden Group formulated its Carbon Neutral Vision 2050 and declared its intention to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050. In the same year, the Action Plan to Achieve Carbon Neutrality was published, setting the ambitious target of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the supply chain and becoming carbon negative as early as possible before 2050 by reducing emissions throughout society. As a responsible energy provider, in line with the basic viewpoint of Japan's national energy policy – S + 3E (energy security, economic efficiency, environmental consideration + safety) – the Kyuden Group is proactively engaging in initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality and to reduce environmental impact, such as conserving natural resources and protecting biodiversity.
