Kyuden International Corporation and Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Company, Incorporated (hereinafter referred to as the Kyuden Group) are delighted that at the IJ Global ESG Awards 2023 on October 19, the Subsea DC Transmission Project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) won the "IJ Global ESG Energy Transition Award", which recognizes achievements that contribute significantly to the energy transition.

　The IJ Global ESG Awards are presented by IJ Global*, which recognizes outstanding projects and initiatives by companies that have excelled in the field of ESG during the fiscal year 2022 (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023). This project was selected as a significant contributor to the transition towards decarbonization in industries with high greenhouse gas emissions in the Middle East region. The project, which transmits clean energy from the mainland to two offshore oil and gas production bases, not only reduces CO2 emissions during oil and gas production but also contributes to the UAE’s “Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative”.
