Tokyo Gas and Kyuden Established Chiba Sodegaura Power Co.,Ltd.
Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. ("Tokyo Gas") and Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. ("Kyuden") established Chiba Sodegaura Power Co., Ltd. today to conduct a feasibility study of a LNG-fired thermal power plant. Tokyo Gas and Kyuden jointly plan to construct a combined-cycle power station, utilizing an unused industrial site owned by Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. in Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture.
The two companies will respond to social requests such as lower electricity prices and more options of electric power suppliers in the increasingly competitive Japanese electricity market, contributing to the development of local economy through this LNG-fired thermal power plant project.
