Kyuden International Forms Capital and Business Alliance with German Startup LiveEO - Cooperation with a German Company Develops AI Satellite Data Analysis Business -
We are pleased to announce that Kyuden Group's Kyuden International Co., Ltd. (Kyuden International) has entered into a capital and business alliance with the German startup company LiveEO GmbH (LiveEO) through NordicNinja VC Limited (NordicNinja), a Nordic startup investment fund, in which Kyuden International invested in 2023.
LiveEO is a leading satellite-analytics company, providing services to corporate customers worldwide. By leveraging AI technology, it provides infrastructure monitoring solutions for power transmission and distribution lines, railways, pipelines, and forest monitoring solutions that comply with EU deforestation regulations (EUDR).
Currently, Kyuden International, LiveEO, and NordicNinja are collaborating on a demonstration project using LiveEO's services for power transmission lines managed by the Kyuden Group.
Moving forward, Kyuden International plans to use the insights gained from this demonstration project to expand the sales of LiveEO's services in Japan and other Asian countries, and to develop new solutions in collaboration with LiveEO.
Through these initiatives, the two companies aim to strengthen their cooperation and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.
Comment from LiveEO CEO, Sven Przywarra
We are very pleased to be able to collaborate with the Kyuden Group in promoting the use of satellite data for infrastructure maintenance and management through this capital and business alliance. Starting with the demonstration project in Kyushu, we hope to deepen our cooperation and strongly believe that this alliance will be a significant step towards solving the challenges of Japan's social infrastructure.
Comment from NordicNinja Managing Partner, Rainer Sternfeld
In recent years, as the risk of natural disasters has increased and labor shortages have progressed in Japan, we believe that addressing issues related to infrastructure management has become indispensable. Against this backdrop, the alliance between the Kyuden Group and LiveEO holds significant importance. We are confident that this collaboration marks the first step towards contributing to the efficiency and safety of Japan's social infrastructure as a whole.
Comment from Kyuden International President, Takashi Mitsuyoshi
We are delighted to announce the realization of our capital and business alliance with LiveEO. The maintenance and management of power infrastructure require solutions for efficiency through digitalization. We are confident that LiveEO's satellite image analysis technology can contribute to solving various infrastructure challenges, not limited to power transmission and distribution. Additionally, their environmental service business, including forest destruction prevention monitoring, is expected to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society. Moving forward, we aim to develop our collaboration further and provide value from Kyushu to Japan and other Asian countries.
