Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., through its U.S.-based subsidiary Kyuden Urban Development America, LLC, is to participate in a student housing development project in Davis, California, U.S.

This project involves the development of a five-story, 239-unit student housing community in partnership with The Michaels Organization, one of the largest residential developers in the United States, and the Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development.

Davis is a university town centered around the University of California, Davis. With continued growth in student enrollment, demand for high-quality student housing in the area has been increasing.

The property is located near downtown Davis and offers convenient access to the university campus. In addition, a variety of retail and commercial facilities are within walking distance, providing residents with an attractive living environment.

Additionally, the project will incorporate solar power generation facilities and is expected to obtain environmental certifications, contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society.

The Kyuden Group will continue to proactively pursue urban development and placemaking initiatives toward the realization of the Kyuden Group Management Vision 2035.
