Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc (Kyuden) is pleased to announce that Kyuden International Corporation (KIC), an affiliated company of Kyuden Group operating in the overseas energy business, will open a branch office in Tokyo in January 2020.

Kyuden Group is committed to expand its overseas business interests in order to achieve the Kyuden Group Management Vision 2030 "Kyuden Group: Creating the future, starting from Kyushu." Up until now, KIC, together with Kyuden, engages in overseas energy businesses in 13 different countries and regions with a total equity ownership of 2,423 MW. Next to that, it participates in overseas consulting projects in 23 countries and regions.

KIC will open an office in Tokyo to strengthen information gathering on new overseas business opportunities in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Another objective of this branch office is to further accelerate overseas business development in the future, as KIC will expand overseas business areas to Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Additionally, KIC will aggressively seek the opportunities to develop power generation systems that are new to KIC's portfolio, such as offshore wind power.

By using our top-class technological prowess and extensive expertise, Kyuden Group aims to achieve an equity ownership of 5,000 MW in overseas electricity generation projects by 2030.
