Updates on Periodic Inspection for Genkai Nuclear Power Station Units No.3 and No.4 - Progress of Specialized Safety Facility construction work leads to a change in the inspection period -

 On March 30, 2022, Kyushu Electric Power communicated that the periodic inspection for Genkai Nuclear Power Station would take place during the suspension periods, which for Unit 3 lasts from Jan. 21, 2022 to Jan. 20, 2023 and for Unit 4 from Sep. 12, 2022 to Feb. 23, 2023, and that it would complete the construction of Specialized Safety Facility ("SSF") within these suspension periods.

 Regarding the installation of SSF, construction work is progressing steadily with safety as the top priority, and based on the current progress and status of periodic inspections, the inspection period has been changed as below.

 In conducting periodic inspections, we will continue to place the highest priority on ensuring safety and will carefully proceed with each inspection, assignment, and installation of the facility to ensure safe and stable operation in the future.

 Please note that these dates underlined show the resumption of power generation, while return to commercial operation (completion of periodic inspections) is scheduled for approximately one month later.
